The design of any successful building has two principal players – the client and architect.
At the outset, most clients have only an imprecise idea of what they are looking for in an architect. The process of a competition, with briefing days and interviews, draws out priorities and allows client and potential architect to meet. This allows a deeper appraisal of each other’s fit. In addition, it allows the client’s team to ensure that all skills are represented in the design team – engineering, costs and others.
