John’s professional experience in the field of architecture spans both practice and academia. He is Director of Projects with special responsibility for Competitions and Professional Relations and is currently advising multiple clients in London and the Middle East.
John has over fifteen years’ experience gained at design studios all over the world, from London to Los Angeles and Toronto. His international outlook was sparked by living in Rome as a student, where he was inspired by the city’s diverse mix of architectural styles.
Before joining MRC, John was an Associate at multi award-winning architecture and urban planning practice Allies and Morrison. Here he led several mixed-use projects situated in complex urban contexts, including Quadrant Regent Street and Highbury Square.
Previously, John has taught at Swiss university EPFL and at the Mackintosh School of Architecture in Glasgow. He was also an Assistant Professor and Course Director at the University of Nottingham, where he was responsible for designing the curriculum and ensuring quality assurance compliance. John currently serves as an examiner for the Architects Registration Board.
John has Bachelor’s degrees in Architecture and Environmental Studies from the University of Waterloo, Canada, and a Master’s degree in City Design and Social Science from the London School of Economics.
